Outdoor Event Promotions

At Discount displays we have been helping event organisers promote their events for over 35 years and here I would like to share a few ideas with you to help your event be a success. Even in this digital age printed banners, posters and flags still play an essential part in any event.

1. Banner

Light weight, portable and easy to put up and remove after the event banners are still an event branding favourite. Use banners to create a visual impact and draw attention to your event. They can be used to guide people as well as brand an event with your sponsors messsage. Place them in high-traffic areas such as busy intersections or near public transportation hubs. One change in banners in recent years is the availability of more eco friendly materials and inks.

2. Flags

The invention of feather flags has made a big impact on events. These types of promotional branded feather flags come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Quill, Teardrop, Bow, Sail, Swooper flags. Apart from the shape, they are all the same. Dye printed flags have a sleeve into which you push a bendy pole (similar to a fishing rod). Now you can put up temporary flags for event branding without needing permanent flag poles. Simple and quick to put up these flags can be used to brand events as well mark points of interest such as meeting points, toilets or first aid posts.

The latest innovation in the market place are inflatable flag poles. The poles are easy to inflate and designed to maintain constant pressure, eliminating the need for an external air supply. Ranging from 3.8 to a massive 8 meters in height, these flags are perfect for capturing attention and maximizing exposure at your upcoming event.

3. Fence barrier covers

Many events will use crowd control barriers. These make ideal and cost effective banner frames using nill cost space to enhance brand awareness. A number of materials are available and fence barrier covers can be single or double sided. Ideal space for selling to your sponsors through-out your event.

4. Pavement Signs

These are ideal for directing people and traffic and around the event. There are a variety of types to choose from some specifically designed to be used for outdoor event for both shorter and longer term use. Something simple such as a correx a board which can be used as a cheaper alternative throw away product. Other options include water fillable bases or spikes that you simple stick into the ground.

5. Tents

Tents are often used as reception areas or at entrance point to the event. They may be pop up frame style of even inflatable in either case they offer a great branding opportunity. Always a useful product for the ever predictable UK weather.

6. Banner Frames

Banners can easily be attached to fences and barriers but sometimes they are not available. Banner frames can be used to fill these gaps and display your banners. You can choose for a traditional metal frame or pop up banner frames both of which have a frame as an integral part of the display.

7. Signs

Signs: Branding, safety, information and much more. You couldn’t run an event without signage. Our most popular material for temporary event signage is correx. It’s light weight easy to put up and importantly affordable. Nail, stick or use cable ties to attach these signs to lamp posts and fences.

8. Outdoor Advertising

Utilise outdoor advertising in the build up to your event such as billboards, bus shelters, and bus wraps to promote your event to a wider audience.

In addition to traditional below the line printed branding for promoting your outdoor or indoor event you should also work the digital channels.
